Update:Sasha chose not to wear the skirt for the opening ceremonies. Rumours tell us that he didn't like the fit. Men in skirts did, however, appear on the catwalk at the opening ceremonies.
Sasha Zhoya, competing in men's 110m hurdles, was given the green light to wear a skirt at the 2024 opening ceremonies. The skirted outfit was originally designed for women athletes alongside a sleeveless jacket, though many women wore trousers as well. Men were meant to cover up with long-sleeved jackets and pants. Classic.
He pointed out a double standard that many don't often consider:
"If women have the right to wear trousers, it should also be right that men have the choice of wearing skirts,"
He confidently added:
"It's 2024, we can wear everything. There's no man, no woman in fashion now."
During his fitting for the Olympics opening ceremony, track & field star and Dior ambassador Sasha Zhoya asked if he could try on a skirt, which is part of the French women's uniforms:
Funny that he needed to get a green light, let alone the fact that countries have completely different attire for different sexes at Olympic ceremonies. But there are stranger things... we think.
Zhoya will be part of the 110m hurdles this summer games. We wish him luck and hope more men can show this kind of bravery, so the movement catches on.

That is amazing. He looks like a swell guy too, just wanting to wear what he wants. Especially in this hot summer weather, I don’t blame him.
